Job Description:

Key Roles and Responsibilities:
The role establishes and implements performance objectives, operating procedures, KPIs and targets and ensure these are met across all unit functions and builds customer loyalty through both client and customer satisfaction. He/She is expected to work to continually identify opportunities strategically for improvement and establishes and maintains an on-going review of working practices to ensure they are fit for purpose and meet client needs.

Job Requirements:

Leadership Role:
  • Leads the department through the implementation of a project management based mode of operation.
  • Leads the business’s strategic planning processes and develops performance objectives, sales targets, and critical milestone and accountable for the achievement of the department’s assigned targets for profitable sales volume and achievement of the business’s overall objectives.
  • Formulates the departmental vision and values and oversees their adoption through the department, hence, forming the department’s working culture.
  • Leads in the development of solutions that best address client needs while simultaneously coordinating the involvement of the necessary business personnel inclusive of support, service, and resource management in order to meet key account performance objectives and the clients’ expectations.
  • Plays a mentorship role to key personnel in the account management department, assisting in the execution of duties where necessary, constantly honing their skills, ensuring their constant professional improvement, and essentially readying them to occupy his position in the future.
Strategy:
  • Tasked with playing the lead strategic role in the department and drives and develops business specific growth strategies and approaches.
  • Oversee client pitches and concept proposals, if needed.
  • Meet with clients or upper management to explain campaign strategies and solutions, if necessary
Relationship Management:
  • Tasked with building strong and long-lasting relationships with clients through the creation of long term planning and understanding.
  • Develop and maintain a working knowledge of client’s policies, procedures, and systems.
Collaboration:
  • Organizes and balances workflow across all areas within the function and maintain relationship with other departments within the business
  • Works closely with other key stakeholders in the agency on departmental strategies, goals, and targets and in determining financial requirements for the department and developing the department’s internal budgetary allocation
  • Work closely with the Creative/Strategy team to ensure creative output is on brief and exceeds client’s expectations
  • Works closely with the HR department in establishing the recruitment criteria and training needs and solutions for the Operations department in order to ensure efficient execution of duties and overall performance at all levels of the department.
  • Work closely with Finance and Logistics to ensure payables and receivables concerns are addressed and clarified to avoid delays
  • Meet and communicate regularly with team members providing regular team and capture issues or acknowledge achievements
Education and Relevant Experience
  • Must have a minimum of 7 years in working experience working in key account management position within a fast paced and highly competitive business environment, preferably working as a Senior Key Account Manager and has an impressive track record in meeting and even exceeding sales targets.
  • Has a proven and successful track record in establishing strong and long-term client relationships
  • Communication skills are a paramount requirement of this position and must be customer-oriented, be patient in order to manage difficult clients, be result-focused, demonstrate integrity and respect in the performance of his duties, be self-motivated going beyond the call of duty, have an ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines, have exceptional organizational skills, and demonstrate calmness in uncertain and stressful situations inspiring the same in his team.
